Melbourne's Second Porsche Center

Aussie, especially to those who live in Melbourne will get a new Porsche Center this March 12.

Porsche Center Brighton, a 2000sqm facility, is under construction and is scheduled to open its doors to Porsche lovers on March 12. It's located in the well-known automotive retail strip along the Nepean Highway. They will be authorized to sell New and Porsche Approved Pre-Owned vehicles, as well as offer comprehensive factory-backed servicing.

Porsche Supervisory Board Re-Constituted

The Supervisory Board of Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, was re-constituted. In the session of the Supervisory Board following the Annual General Meeting of the company, the Board unanimously reappointed Dr. Wolfgang Porsche as its Chairman and the Deputy, Uwe Hück.

Porsche sales drop 14 per cent

Having shocked by economic downturn, Porsche SE sales or the first six months of its fiscal year fell 14 per cent. Their sales fell to euro3 billion ($3.9 billion). The company said its sales volume dropped 27 per cent to 34,000 vehicles during the period.

However, they still not releases their net profit figures. It will release its official earnings report in March after Volkswagen AG's latest earnings are out. Porsche is VW's largest shareholder, holding 50.8 per cent since the beginning of January.

Porsche said it sold 13,500 of its 911 models in the first six months, a 17 per cent decline from the 16,263 in the year ago period. The Cayenne saw a 20 per cent decline in sales to 16,600 from 20,638 a year ago.

Porsche 911 GT3 RSR stunning performance on circuits

New Porsche 911 GT3 RSR have shown it stunning performance on the race track, the fast, bumpy course that is Sebring International Raceway.


At the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) winter tests which 28 Jan, the long distance race car, which received modifications in many areas, immediately displayed its exceptional reliability and handling. Porsche teams Flying Lizard Motorsports and Farnbacher Loles Racing conducted an intensive three-day test schedule and worked on a base setup for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, which will be held on Saturday, March 21.


In Sebring with a 2008 GT3 RSR, the VICI Racing squad concentrated on setup tests with the Michelin tires, which are new for the team. By the Sebring race next month, the outfit will also run the 450 hp Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with the new four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 - Auto Shows


If the 911 is the quintessential Porsche, then the weight-optimized and more powerful—yet naturally aspirated—GT3 is the quintessential 911. But its aficionados needed patience; while the more humble versions of the 911 were updated last summer, the GT3 and Turbo have soldiered on without changes. Now, Porsche has released pictures and information on the latest GT3, which debuts at the Geneva auto show in March. The Turbo will have to wait until the Frankfurt show in September, and then it may still be some time before the Turbo Cabriolet and the Turbo-based GT2 are updated. Porsche clearly intends to keep us busy.

Porsche new $130 million Museum

Porsche SE has open the $130 million museum starting Jan 31 for the public. The all-white museum designed by the Vienna architects Delugan Meissl has 5,600 square meters for 80 vehicles. Car featured there such as the 356 Spyder, the car that the actor James Dean was driving when he died in a 1955 crash, and the latest generation of the 911 Carrera sports car. There are also other cars on display include the 1939 Type 64, built for the Berlin-Rome long-distance car race. The original 911, the 1968 2.0 Coupe, also features.

The Porsche Museum is at Porscheplatz in Stuttgart. It opens from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission for adults costs 8 euros. Children up to age 14 go free if accompanied by an adult.
